6 Founders Pitch
Each founder gets their moment in the spotlight to present their business that absolutely nobody asked for. Powerpoints encouraged. Business plans: optional.
🇨🇦 Canada's Most Unnecessary Startup Competition
Six founders. Six absolutely terrible business ideas. One panel of judges pretending to be investors. An audience that decides who gets "funded." Chaos ensues.
A TechBeat Canada Production • Inspired by the worst ideas imaginable
The Format
Think Dragons' Den meets a dumpster fire. Founders pitch their world-changing (read: absolutely baffling) ideas to a panel of distinguished judges who will ruthlessly evaluate, roast, and ultimately pretend to invest in the least terrible option.
Each founder gets their moment in the spotlight to present their business that absolutely nobody asked for. Powerpoints encouraged. Business plans: optional.
Our panel of faux-investors will ask hard questions like "have you considered not doing this?" and "what exactly is your path to profitability?" in their sternest voices.
YOU decide which terrible company deserves symbolic, completely non-existent funding. Vote for the most hilarious pitch, best bullshit, or most delusional valuation.
One company leaves with the coveted RaccoonBin Golden Trash Can trophy and eternal glory on the internet. No money changes hands. Ever. We promise.
The Lineup
Six founders. Six ideas that would make any real investor immediately leave the room. Each pitch is 8 minutes followed by a panel roast — sorry, Q&A.

"A blockchain-powered missing sock recovery protocol"
Every sock is minted as an NFT at time of purchase. When your dryer eats one, the blockchain knows. SockDAO coordinates a decentralized global network of laundry observers who earn $SOCK tokens for reporting lone socks. Already in talks with Samsung to integrate into their dryers. (They have not responded to our emails.)

"A weather complaint delivery service for Canadians"
Automatically detects bad weather in your area and sends a formally drafted complaint letter to Environment Canada on your behalf. Subscribers can choose tone presets: "Politely Disappointed Canadian," "Actually Furious," or "Passive Aggressive Ontarian." Over 40,000 complaints sent in beta. Zero responses received.

"A gym membership you pay for but never use — as a service"
Why pretend to use a gym on your own when you can pay a subscription to have us pretend on your behalf? We swipe your access card 3x per week, leave a sweaty towel by a treadmill, and email you progress reports. The guilt is gone. The illusion is real. The gains are completely fictional.

"AI-generated Canadian apologies, at scale"
Canadians say sorry too much. What if that could be monetized? Never awkwardly apologize to a door you walked into ever again — let the AI handle it. B2B vertical targeting hockey rinks and Tim Hortons queues.

The Investors
Meet the people who will pretend to have $50 million to invest while asking devastating questions about your go-to-market strategy. They are absolutely not authorized to write cheques.

Your Vote Matters
Unlike the real Dragons' Den, you hold the power. After all six pitches, the audience votes for the company they most want to see "funded" — based entirely on who was the most hilarious, had the best nonsense, and delivered the most unhinged pitch with the most confidence.
Did they make the whole room lose it? Did the judges struggle to keep a straight face? That's the move.
Delivered with total confidence and conviction? Fake market research? Fictional partnerships? Chef's kiss.
Did they wear a costume? Bring props? Cry on purpose? Dress their dog as a co-founder? You love to see it.
The winning company gets the Golden Trash Can and eternal bragging rights — plus a TechBeat article about them.
